Would you like to make new friends?
Are you looking for activities to join, or do you want to learn something new?
Yes! Then NESTON U3A is just the place for you.

in our organised Groups.
Our Open Meeting is held on the last Thursday of each month at Neston Civic Hall, Hinderton Road, Neston. Doors are open at 1.15 pm for a 2.00pm start.
You may explore the Activity Boards in this time.
There is always someone nearby to help with information and advice.
The meeting lasts about 2 hours.
Our Chairman will welcome members and visitors and will read out important information
about future Activities and Outings.
The Guest Speaker will entertain and inform us for approximately 1 hour.
Then there is the opportunity to stay for a cup of tea/coffee and meet up with other members.
Again there is time to look at the Activity Boards.
You are most welcome to come and attend one of our meetings before joining to find out more.
Entrance fee is £1 for members and £2 for visitors.
Non members can make up to 2 visits before joining.

How The Groups Work.
Most groups have no additional charge but for some activities there may be a small charge
if the group needs to hire a room or require special resources.
The groups vary in size from 5-
and the size of the meeting place.
Most meetings are held in members’ homes. Some groups need a larger venue and have to hire a room.
Groups can meet monthly, fortnightly or weekly.
While we are always looking for members to lead interest groups, nobody is required to do this. Pick and choose what groups you are interested in and, provided they are not full you will be most welcome to join.
For groups that are full we would support setting up a duplicate group if there is sufficient interest.
Volunteering with the U3A.
We are a registered charity and the organisation is run entirely by volunteers.
We are always looking for more people to help with organisation and contribute ideas – if you are newly retired you might find it very fulfilling to join the committee or take on a small job to assist us in providing activities for our members.
U3A stands for the University of the Third Age.
Third Age is the stage when we have ended our working life or careers and have time to spend
on existing interests or to develop new ones.
It is not in any way like the usual sort of university.
Members need no qualifications and there are no exams! The name reflects the fact that our activities
can offer opportunities for new learning but in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Perhaps most importantly it offers a chance to meet a wider range of people and make new friends.
Neston U3A was formed in 2002 and currently has over 300 members.
You do not have to live within the Neston area to join us.
The national U3A magazine is posted to members four times a year.
Membership is £10 per annum,
which includes £3.50 affiliation fee to the Third Age Trust.
This also covers the postage of the National News Magazine.
